ASI’s commitment to QUALITY ASSURANCE, qUALITY CONTROL, and client satisfaction sets ASI apart from the competition.
ASI has built its reputation in the heavy construction and roller-compacted concrete (RCC) industries on the innovative completion of high quality products, within specified time frames and budgets.
At ASI, we believe that living up to our reputation is essential for maintaining current clients and creating relationships with new ones. In keeping with our tradition of top performance, we make a commitment to each new project that ensures that materials and services will meet or exceed contract specified requirements. The nature of this commitment is three-fold, consisting of people, procedures, and equipment.
ASI’s commitment to quality begins with people. ASI has a staff of construction professionals and engineers who are qualified for their responsibilities through education, training, and experience.
ASI is proactive in quality control and quality assurance. ASI's project team is dedicated to ensure overall project quality. Additionally, as required by the individual project, ASI may dedicate a quality control manager. Other project staff receive project-specific training prior to project initiation and during the project on a daily and weekly basis through scheduled project review meetings. Whether it’s a roller operator compacting fill, or welder splicing high-priced copper water stop, quality control is part of ASI’s day-to-day operations.
ASI often performs its own quality control testing above and beyond that required by the engineering company or owner to ensure that its own procedures and products will fulfill their intended needs. Where engineering and materials quality testing and decisions are required, ASI has on staff specialists in materials testing, concrete mix design, welding and fabrication which are called in as required by the project.
If independent testing or testing outside ASI’s expertise is required, only qualified companies with industry recognized quality are employed. ASI personnel are trained to identify quality control issues early, and communicate to supervisors and client representatives such that appropriate actions may be taken immediately. We believe that early detection and resolution of quality control issues keeps the project on track, reduces costs, and ensures that high quality is maintained.
ASI routinely provides its projects with its own on-site laboratory testing facilities and equipment. ASI personnel are trained in the most commonly required soil and rock testing procedures. Where unusual tests are required that are difficult or impossible to do in the lab, such as gradations on over sized rock fill, or performance of an RCC delivery system, ASI often fabricates testing equipment for job-specific applications. Additionally, ASI operates several mobile mixing plants for conventional concrete and RCC projects. Associated with these operations are personnel and equipment responsible for generating and testing new concrete mix designs. Test batches are routinely mixed and tested for slump, air, unit weight, temperature, and compressive strength.
Quality control procedures are a routine part of ASI operations, because we know that our clients count on quality products.
